You don't. But you can tell the computer to default to using Image Capture (part of OS X, not Canon's software). Image Capture lets you either download all pix with a single click, or select particular ones to download - and even lets you do a little manipulation before downloading if you like. Applications->Image Capture Start it up. Plug in the camera. The camera should show up in the list of devices/sources on the left. Click on the camera and tell it to use Image Capture by default. Do as you like. It's really quite nice, actually.
