Thanks. You understand that this turns off auto-lock, not auto-save or versions. If you don't like auto-save, you should want auto-lock to be *more* aggressive, not turned off. You cannot turn off auto-save in Lion at all (at least in Apple apps and any other apps which have adopted them the way Apple wants them to). Now what I'm trying to find is how to turn auto-lock back ON in Mountain lion. It's no longer there in Time Machine prefs (which was a goofy place for it in the first place). Perhaps there's a command-line I can use to turn auto-lock back on. I'll be digging for it soon, but if anyone knows offhand, I'd appreciate the heads-up.
