Yes, it clearly couldn't be that the OP asked before trying. Why on Earth would anyone do that? Because that's not actually what you said, weasel. Shall we recap?: 1. The OP asked specifically, "what size drive is needed?". 2. Mr. Weasel answered, "16 gig, but it might be possible to stuff it into 8 gig" - as if somehow 8GB would require "stuffing" of some sort, possibly enticing the OP to infer that it might take additional work on the OP's part to use an 8GB stick. And while immediately after that weasel mentioned, "why bother since they're so cheap", that was *after* he indicated 16GB was needed and 8GB would require the nebulous additional work of "stuffing". So the OP could be excused for drawing the conclusion that he might want to avoid using an 8GB stick - even one sitting right beside him in a desk drawer. I suppose if the OP drew that conclusion, weasel would just blame the OP for "misunderstanding" weasel's words. 3. Noticing that the OP might draw incorrect conclusions from weasel's advice, several nice folks then indicated that, contrary to weasel's suggestion that 16GB was needed, 8GB works just fine. 4. Weasel then changed his tune and said he only meant that 16GB was cheaper than 8GB (Duh.), which clearly isn't what the OP asked. Again, the OP asked what was needed. 5. Next, weasel said the reason he tried to deter the OP from using an 8GB stick is because weasel somehow knows the OP must not have an existing USB stick, suggesting that the OP wouldn't have asked otherwise. Only, it's not clear at all from the OP weather the OP does or does not have an existing stick in their possession.
