Do I get to or do I get the > Google search results page for eBay? > > And if I want, how do I get the opposite result? While you are typing, a box appears below the field with matches. Once you've got "ebay" typed, Safari automatically adds the .com portion for you in the field, and you see matches including: 1. The top hit (www.ebay.com), which is selected by default 2. Google Search auto-completion matches 3. Matching bookmarks and matches from your browsing history Here's a screen shot: If you want to go to the web site, you can just type Enter/Return. If you want some other match, such as a Google search, you can use the arrow keys or mouse/trackpad to select it. This behavior seems perfectly fine to me. -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter. I often ignore posts from Google. Use a real news client instead. JR
