I used a platinum IIe with original Uthernet talking to a standard (unenhanced) Apple IIe with the new Uthernet II. Both were running a pre-release edition of Marina, but it's not much improved since the January 2016 edition. The two cards were directly connected with no intermediate hardware. The two Uthernets seem to have negotiated a 10 Mb/s, half-duplex link, judging from the status lights on the Uthernet II. To my dismay, the Uthernet II seemed to be receiving its own broadcasts, so the Marina instance running on that machine was mighty confused! It was seeing its own ARP announcements and replying to them! This caught the machine in an infinite loop. Anyone else tried to do this? I'd love to run it through a switch or hub but I don't have a good one handy for local testing. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could setup two (or more, if possible!) Apples running Marina on the same local net and see how they behave with each other. If someone does plan on doing this, let me know, and I'll modify the Marina demo to make it easier to send and receive messages via UDP. Meanwhile, I'm searching for a solution for the aforementioned problem, viz, the Uthernet II receiving its own transmissions. -- ]DF$ The Marina IP stack for Apple II-- http://marina.a2hq.com/
