The URL to download is http://bgilon.free.fr/apple2/CheckUII.zip This archive includes a PDF file listing the assembly output and a DOS 3.3 sectored ordered image of the Merlin 2.48 macro assembler which include the CHECKUII.S file. Changes from version published in original post are: a) Cards which support the Apple Smartport protocol are filtered out along with card supporting the Pascal firmware protocol also the AE Timemaster II H.O. and DII Interface card too are filtered out. b) Up yo two UII cards can be detected this way (useful in the context of one of my current projects); c) As I do not claim to be able to filter out every designed Apple peripheral card here, the subroutine caters for expansion placeholders where the user can include configuration data for his own Apple // peripheral card setting. Consult the source listing for further details on this topic. Thanks to David Finigan for providing some of the test results in his own configuration.
