I had a look in catalogues of local suppliers in my city, and they have Cat5/6 patch cables in red, blue, yellow and grey, while the crossover cable is only in Henry Ford black. Now sorting out the spares shelf, I found another black cable that is not crossover - it probably came with some used equipment that I acquired; can't remember from where. Does the colour mean anything?
