I've asked that question. Dopers manage to off themselves quite nicely and I'm sure the evidence locker wouldn't miss a gram or two. There have been several botched executions where they finally managed to kill the person but this is the first one to live. The gas chamber, electric chair, and hanging also had unpleasant events leading to their disuse. I don't know if they've ever managed to screw up a firing squad but Hegseth might be up to the task.
