Robert Ruark was sort of a Hemingway wannabe but I did enjoy his books, particularly 'The Old Man and the Boy'. He also has a column in 'Field & Stream'. Of course, like Papa, he liked going to Africa to shoot exotic species. He got a couple of novels out of in, both set in Kenya. The first was 'Something of Value'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Something_of_Value The film toned down some of the more creative Mau Mau practices. The second novel 'Uhuru' had a similar theme. A portrayal of a politician was close enough to the bone that Ruark decamped Nairobi for SA when it was published. His final novel 'The Honey Badger' was semi autobiographical and likens the behavior of an ex-wife to a honey badger -- going straight for the balls with great ferocity.
