I had my moments in my misbegotten youth with an AH Sprite. Fun little scooter although under-powered with brakes to match. It was a '62 during the transition from the bugeye, so it had the slightly larger engine but the bugeye's inadequate drum brakes. It wasn't that great a problem since it could barely do 80 with a tailwind. You did get plenty of fresh air since if it started to rain you had to assemble the top from bits and pieces in the trunk (boot). Usually I just drove on; you were going to get soaked either way. I only saw it while passing today so it might had been a replica but there was a pristine looking MG TD at a shop that specializes in old Beetles. Classy looking although even slower than a Midget/Sprite.
