Interesting... I wonder if that applies to underscores as well? Sadly many web devs are ill educated and don't consider + to be part of an email address (me - I actually read the RFCs and checked). I've even had one where it was accepted during signup to buy something then when they spammed me, the unsubscribe web page refused to work as it was "an invalid email address". So It stuck them in my exim blacklist file :)
