Now that's the interesting thing - Android is not really a FOSS community. Android itself mostly is (although Samsung et al may put closed bits in). Virtually no apps (even free ones) are FOSS which I found utterly alien and very strange. And Android is generally bundled closed coupled with Google and they need ads in your eyeballs...
