Being Patch Tuesday I updated the laptop. It hung at 4% long enough that I thought I'd have to do the 'hung install foxtrot' but it eventually did it's thing and it still works. So far. I alo updated the Pi. Very strange but VS Code went non-responsive. I had it set for the Visual Studio light mode instead of the default dark mode. When I blew away its config directory it came up dark and worked. Oh well, I've learned to live with worse.
