Because it annoys those with personality defects.  IIRC, news:de.* has
such a rule; and there is a national tendency towards wanting to Rule
them All - Hermann, Lahn, Merkel, ... .  But in the RotW, the best
advice is that of Charles Lindsey et al (he is more intelligent than
Lahn) - just Google for   "Charles Lindsey" attribution   .
