There *are* 980px in landscape mode. Both "detecting" the user agent and redirecting, and a button, are wrong, user-unfriendly approaches. Instead, the layout must be so that it does not force zoom-out, i.e. it must not be too wide. The relevance of this thread to this newsgroup approaches 0.
