Most programmers are unlikely to encounter compiler bugs, and I've seen a lot of inexperienced programmers who are too quick to blame the compiler when their code doesn't compile. (That's not directed at you.) I worked on a (non-C) compiler at a previous job. It was reasonably solid, but I don't remember whether our bug reporting system used 4 or 5 digits. Pick any compiler with a publicly visible bug tracking system and you'll see *lots* of bug reports. My guess is that you're seeing more bugs than most programmers would because you're compiling automatically generated code, so you're more likely to hit odd corner cases. I hope you're submitting bug reports; it's a good way to find problems that might otherwise go undiscovered.
