I had the experience a few years ago of bringing a very dear friend to my father's house for Thanksgiving, only to see her suffer what was afterwards diagnosed as a pulmonary embolism. It happened right after dinner. My brother called 911, and they took her to the hospital, but she didn't survive. They told us afterwards that nothing we could have done would have made any difference. I still miss her very much. umar
