I think its more they choose not to do it that way when they do that. Like that kid I saw yesterday riding on the wrong side of the road on a major thoroughfare in my town, well off the side of that road tho that doesn't have a proper gutter on that side of the road. > There are exceptions, and they stand out. I do come across quite a few tearing around on the bush tracks that I walk on for exercise, on their non road bikes. Never had any problem with them, they are very careful to not run you over and I always get a thank you when I get out of the road and let them past. There is a big pack of the lycra clad ones that do charge around in a groups of anything up to 30 or so at times, but they are really just a minor nuisance out on the major roads outside town where they are much slower than the 100KMPH speed limit. Sposed to be much worse in the CBDs of the state capitals but I didn't see much of that the last time I was there just a couple of weeks ago.
