Just so.  I just discovered yesterday that the version of Firefox I
was using will unilaterally, automatically launch a Google search for
the string in the address/URL pane if contacting it fails.

Gak!  I didn't know DNS highjacking was built into FF.  (I usually use
an antique browser that doesn't do that.)  Now I have to find out if
there's a way to turn that off.
