How do you people hide the spam? Gnus allows me to score articles based on various header-based criteria such as Organization, From, Subject, and most beautifully, Xref. Everything past a certain threshold gets chucked in the bin automatically. I'm not sure how well-equipped other readers are on that matter, but I would expect Thunderbird to be capable of basic filtering as well (it works for mail). I don't see any spam on here whatsoever, with very few rules in place.
