I am amazed that none of the batteries have leaked. I Have decided that if I get a charging cord I will do the first re-charge out of the machine and in a plastic bag. > And of course, the TI Programmer wasn't about programming, but it gave > you an easy method of converting between decimal, hex, binary and octal. > And I thought it did logic operations like AND, OR, XOR, and shift left > and shift right. About programming (in the old days), not programmable. It has 40 keys that include numbers from 0-F, all the logic functions, and it speaks Decimal, Hexadecimal, and Octal. The binary notation for each digit is shown under the key for that number. It has a single "memory" register. > I always wanted one, but couldn't justify it at the time. The machine I lusted was the TI 59 (I think that is the right number) with the Aviation module and the printer "docking station" (I don't think the "docking station" meme had been invented yet--and the machine I had in mind was said to be the first programmable hand held, I think) > Now, any ten dollar 375 function calculators has all of that built in. I think there are wrist watches with all of that and more. -- The unique Characteristics of System Administrators: The fact that they are infallible; and, The fact that they learn from their mistakes.
