I could say much the same thing, except that I was less certain than you
are that it would have have been a completely unreasonable way to design
a linker. I'm only a user of linkers, I've no detailed understand of
their design. I was actually expecting a response that would explain why
it was reasonable, at least under some circumstances - and I then
expected to argue with him about those circumstances.
