The May 2015 issue of the UK MacFormat magazine ran a group test on 2.0
speakers. None of them are listed as having "optical" input (a couple
say digital input), but in case anyone else is looking for speakers,
the group test's results said ...

Roth's OLi POWA-5 speakers look big and bulky even sitting
alongside a 27-inch iMac, but as soon as we heard them it
was obvious they were in a class of their own. With a rich,
detailed sound and firm bass, the OLi POWA-5 brings hi-fi
quality to your desktop for just over £200. They handled
all genres with equal aplomb, and their 80W output will
really get things going when they need to. They're packed
with useful features too. There are multiple digital and
analogue inputs for use with devices such as a set-top TV
box, and as well as providing Bluetooth streaming for
mobile devices, they even allow you to plug in and charge
your iPhone. They can't charge an iPad, unfortunately -
    but no one's perfect.

    Audioengine A2+ £199 4 stars (out of 5)

    Edifier Luna Eclipse e25 £150 3 stars

Harman Kardon Nova £220 4 stars

    Roth OLi POWA-5 £225 5 stars - MacFormat Winner!
