And so it goes on !

Had to cable the phone up to the Air again for it to see 26.4.2 in the 
Finder and process the update.

But why?  Without success, I have tried all of the suggested "fixes" 
above - except for the nuclear "reset" option - as that gives too much 
after-hassle.

But it is really bugging me as to why this keeps happening on this one 
device.

Any thoughts or options are again welcome
