RANDLEMAN, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman who was charged with indecent liberties by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has been suspended from her teaching job. On July 1, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office got a report of sexual allegations and began investigating. Following an investigation, detectives charged 39-year-old Britney Marie Vernon with three counts of felony indecent liberties with a student and three counts of felony sex acts with a student. On Wednesday, Vernon was served at the Randolph County Detention Center where she was issued a $75,000 bond. Randolph County Schools says that Vernon was a health science teacher at Randleman High School. She’s worked for the school district since 2018 and has been at RHS since August 2023.
