ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Six people were shot and two others were injured early Sunday in north St. Louis County after someone opened fire into a crowd on West Florissant Avenue, police said. St. Louis County police responded at about 1:25 a.m. to the 11800 block of West Florissant Avenue for a report of an assault. When officers arrived, they found multiple people gathered in the area, according to police. Investigators said someone suspect fired several shots into the crowd. Six people suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to area hospitals with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Two additional people sustained injuries not related to gunfire. The injured ranged in age from 17 to 19 years old. No arrests had been made as of Sunday morning. Authorities asked anyone with information about the shooting to call St. Louis County police at 636-529-8210.
