Police said Dennis Dill hid in a restroom inside Olin Library for five hours. Police said he had no affiliation with the university. ST. LOUIS — An Illinois man is facing 15 charges after police said he hid in the women's restroom of a Washington University library and secretly photographed women. Dennis Dill, 30, was charged Wednesday with 14 counts of felony invasion of privacy and one count of misdemeanor invasion of privacy in connection with multiple incidents on Nov. 19 and 25. According to the probable cause statement filed by the Washington University Police Department, the incident happened at the Olin Library on the university's campus. The probable cause statement said Dill was caught on surveillance video entering the women's bathroom and staying there for five hours. During that time, police said he took photographs of "numerous female victims" who were partially nude inside bathroom stalls. Prosecutors said he placed his phone into a mesh pocket of a bag and angled it up into the neighboring stall. Prosecutors said a food service employee noticed someone was in the stall for an extended period of time and confronted him. The employee then called campus police. Police carried out a search warrant on his cell phone and found the photos. “We have no evidence that they were distributed or disseminated out into the public as far as we know," Assistant St. Louis County Prosecutor John Paul Frisella said. Fourteen of the charges say the incident happened on or about Nov. 19 and the misdemeanor charge said it happened on or about Nov. 25. St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Price Smith said the delay in charging Dill was due to students leaving for holiday break, which slowed the investigation. The police department said Dill is not affiliated with Washington University. He lives in Belleville, and prosecutors said he was on probation for a similar incident at Southwestern Illinois College. "To me it shows that he's escalating his behavior," said St. Louis County Prosecutor Melissa Price Smith. "He's not concerned at all that he's on probation, which gives us more concern that he just continues what he's doing." In a press conference, Smith asked students and faculty at any area university to call their campus police department if they believe Dill victimized them. Dill's bond was set at $100,000.
