is posting looking for work still alowed?

hi all,

i sent an email to the perl jobs list looking for work and in the most 
recent batch sent out, i didn't see my email. is that still allowed or 
what? there used to be some number of job seeking posts but the web site 
doesn't support that so you had to send an email directly to the list as 
i did. i am not even sure this jobs discuss list is still alive so 
consider this a test of that as well.
