We can tank the MTA for getting new trains that are both poorly designed and don't have enough seats. When the new IND cars came out in the 1970's we were rather amazed. The were more comfortable, with seats in L formations allowing for more seating and for conversation, without sizably affecting standing room. They were a modern miracle. They are being retired by new cars with larger doors and far few seats, lined up against the walls and poles set up right in front of the doors. This is an MTA more interested in moving LIVESTOCK that the stafety and comfort of passangers. Which is the gift of Congestion Pricing, where the MTA does whatever the hell it wants without consideration for the public.
