Jim Boehner, N2ZZ, Director and Bill Morine, N2CPO, Vice Director of the Roanoke Division sent the following email to members in their Division. With Jim and Bill's permission, I'm forwarding it to the members in our Division. The email does a great job giving background on the push to help hams hindered by private land use restrictions. As the letter says, we could really use your help. Thanks and 73, Art K0AIZ ******************************************* By now you should have received the Member Bulletin announcing that ARRL needs your help with generating support in Congress for the passage of the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act. Whether you live in a neighborhood or subdivision with antenna restrictions or not, we need ALL licensed Amateur Radio operators to support this legislation. ARRL has designed an easy campaign. Go to https://send-a-letter.org/hoa/ , insert your Amateur Radio callsign, che ck to make sure your name and address are correct, then click the big red button that says, Send My Letters . It s that simple. Your letters will be hand delivered to your Representative and Senators by your Washington legislative team. Because of work, school or other family needs, many Hams are forced to live in communities with private land restrictions that prohibit the installation of Amateur Radio antennas outside t heir residence, and may not have the choice to choose to live in an area without such restrictions. Over time, severe constraints imposed by recorded private land use restrictions have been overturned by Federal law, such as the prohibitions against satellite TV dishes, TV antennas, wireless internet antennas, and even flag poles. However, Amateur Radio operators are still denied the right to put up antennas, even simple ones. While you may live now in an area without such restrictions, the time may come when you might have to move to one with these constraints. That s why we need EVERYONE to support this campaign. If not for you, then for your current and future fellow Amateur Radio operators, please support this bill. Go to https://send-a-letter.org/hoa/ and send your letters it will be a step to protecting the future of Amateur Radio. Look for updates soon. Many thanks for your consideration and support. 73, Jim Boehner, N2ZZ, ARRL Roanoke Division Director Bill Morine, N2COP, ARRL Roanoke Division Vice Director -------------------------------------------------------------------- ARRL Midwest Division Director: Arthur I Zygielbaum, K0AIZ k0aiz@arrl.org -------------------------------------------------------------------- About this Email: You are receiving this email because you are subscribed to receive ARRL Division and Section News.
