I think this project is mostly done, see https://man.netbsd.org/efi.8

What is left to do is better documentation for the supported architectures
(especially when preparing multi-boot scenarios), and integration into
sysinst, see https://man.netbsd.org/sysinst.8

Documentation work does not fit into GSoC, but if you are interested in
working on the sysinst integration, I'd be happy to help/mentor.
