Maybe that's how it looks in Melbourne? Out here in rural Vic
there's a paved road that's been broken up so bad for years in one
spot that people drive completely on the shoulder beside it (and
after about a year of that the shoulder is getting potholes too).
We can now redeem some recyclable bottles (none of which I buy) for
a few cents, but for others like milk bottles (which I do buy) they
now charge for dropping them off at the transfer station, which was
free before.

I didn't think I was a member of the few benefiting before, but
it's hard to see how I'm served better now.
