I'm just curious.  There was a recent change to dracut with version 
111.  If you are using that version, that change could make it not find 
your root partition.  From my understanding it leaves out the root= info.

If you still have some info surviving the switch to the new method, you 
may be able to determine if that is the problem.  At least then you will 
know.

It could be that it is not related but just thought I would mention.
