I'm trying to update jss now that it migrated to maven, but it requires 
maven-native which we don't seem to have. There is an old ITP from 2y ago:

and then an even older one

which apparently resulted in a repo which is now on salsa

https://salsa.debian.org/java-team/maven-native


but it's 12y old, so does anyone have the time to finish it?
