This works. I only found a file PackageVersion.java.in and didn't know 
that I have to use it in this way.

That is also wired for me. I also tested to set a min version into 
debian/control. But I get the same error message.

I updated my repo at salsa.debian.org/mechtilde/jackson-core

Maybe some other people have some ideas.
