According to codesearch it is used in apache-log4j2 test suite, though I don't know if the test suite or tests that use it are actually run when building the package. FI the sourceforge page still exists [1], the last sourceforge release dates back 2015-04-04 and the last good capture of the wayback machine dates back 2016-12-23 [2]. There is a collection of forks on GitHub, maybe one of them could be identified as a viable successor. Maybe you could check what the newer releases of apache-log4j2 are actually using, or just keep that package around for now if you are unsure.
