I didn't think about that but that could be appropriate given that major releases of Gradle tend to break major things in builds, especially for large projects. So far I was able to rebuild with theses sources and the binary distribution so I don't think there are missing bits, extra bits for sure and I haven't looked yet at what was used to sanitize the sources for Debian, but as its build downloads the whole Internet of dependencies while building itself who knows.
