Quite a while ago, the Eclipse IDE and related plugins (like CDT) were dropped from Debian, as far as I understand primarily because of a lack of manpower. There's an ITP (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=923219) for https://github.com/philippmeisberger/eclipse-package but not only seems the ITP dead, but also upstream itself. But even if that weren't the case - I'd say a proper packaging would be way better than some more or less downloader. Since quite some time has passed, I merely wanted to ask whether there's been ever any thoughts from the Java Team to get Eclipse IDE back into Debian as proper packages? It's probably still the most powerful FLOSS IDE (yes I know, that there are alternatives) so it would be quite nice to have. Thanks, Philippe.
