Package: upgrade-reports Followup-For: Bug #1111967 X-Debbugs-Cc: axst@users.sourceforge.net package: fonts-cantarell changelog for v 0.303.1-3: - Explicitly build and install only the variable font - switch to variable font changelog for v 0.303.1-4: - Create a debian/NEWS file to inform users about the requirement to restart the desktop session immediately after the font upgrade During the minimal upgrade from Bookworm to Trixie, first all characters in the texts in window decorations, menus &c. (which use Cantarell) disappeared and were replaced by boxes, then the Gonme terminal crashed (disappeared) when I tried to open a new tab and could not be restarted. The Gnome session became unusable (white error screen). On a console terminal not used by Gnome I could see (ps -AHf) that Apt was still working using /dev/pts/1. When it had stopped working I could continue the upgrade process on the console. GDM and Gnome only became usable again after ‘apt full-upgrade.’
