Dear Debian community, as my term as Debian Project Leader is approaching its end, I would like to take a moment to clarify the status of current delegations and support a smooth transition to the next DPL. Debian relies on a number of delegations to distribute responsibility across trusted contributors. These delegations are an important part of how the project operates. At the same time, it is useful to periodically reconfirm that delegated roles still reflect both the needs of the project and the availability and interest of the people involved. Therefore, I am announcing that all current delegations listed below are to be considered time-limited until 31 October 2026, unless renewed earlier by the next DPL: Distribution * Archive operations * DFSG, Licensing & New Packages * Backports * Release Team * Build Administration * Policy * Cloud Communication and Outreach * Data Protection team * Publicity team * Outreach * Community * DebConf Committee Support and Infrastructure * New Members Front Desk * Debian Account Managers * Keyring Maintainers * Treasurer * Salsa administrators * tag2upload I kindly ask all current delegates who wish to continue in their role to confirm their interest by sending a signed email to the incoming DPL after the new term has started. Based on these confirmations, the next DPL can renew delegations as appropriate. I would also like to explicitly encourage contributors who are interested in taking on responsibility within one of these areas to consider reaching out to the next DPL. Delegations are an important way to distribute work in Debian, and fresh perspectives as well as additional help are always welcome. This step is intended to ensure clarity, active consent, and a well-defined starting point for the new DPL, rather than to disrupt ongoing work. I would like to thank all delegates for their work and support during my two terms as DPL, as well as for their continued contributions to Debian. Kind regards Andreas
