Chiefs over-paid nigger CB Marcus Peters sits during national anthem prior to NFL season opener vs. Patriots

If you thought players would stop their national anthem protests 
once the regular season started, you thought wrong.

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters refused to stand during the 
playing of the national anthem prior to the NFL’s season opener 
between the Chiefs and Patriots Thursday night. Peters instead 
opted to sit on the Chiefs’ bench.

Prior to the game, Peter shared an image of custom cleats with 
the message "LIBERTY" on the bottom of one cleat and "JUSTICE 
FOR ALL" on the bottom of the other.

"Stand for what you stand in," Peters wrote. "If you see the 
potential for good, speak up. Don’t be Quiet."

It's unclear if Peters wore those cleats during the game.

This isn’t the first time Peters has protested during the 
national anthem. Last season, Peters raised his right fist 
during the national anthem prior to the Chiefs’ Week 2 game 
against the Chargers -- a game which was played on Sept. 11.

“I was just stating how I’m black, and I love being black, (and) 
I’m supporting Colin in what he’s doing as far as raising 
awareness with the justice system,” Peters told The Kansas City 
Star at the time. “But I didn’t mean anything (bad) by it.”

Several players protested during the national anthem throughout 
this year’s preseason, including Michael Bennett, Marshawn Lynch 
and a number of Browns players.

No other player was seen protesting during the national anthem 
prior to Thursday’s game.
