Mi sembra comunque che per quanto riguarda l'attesa, questa parte di 
codice:

dato$ = ""
    tsyn = Timer + 10

      ' Controlla la presenza di dati.

svolga più o meno la stessa funzione del loop da te proposto...beh, 
quasi. :)
