Ok, ho preso un granchio.

Ho provato l'esempio che mi hai suggerito.
In particolare mi riferisco alla seguente istruzione:
'add the image in hidden manner, position at 0 will make it hidden
.Attachments.Add "C:\Users\Sumit Jain\Pictures\11\city.jpg", olByValue, 0

Nella prova che ho fatto il destinatario riceve l'immagine
anche come allegato.
Così non va bene.
Cosa dici?
