As mentioned in the manual at

you may add (nnweb "google" (nnweb-type google)) to
gnus-refer-article-method. Yesterday I realized that it's this
entry that makes Gnus ‘hang’ sometimes, i.e. ‘g’
(gnus-group-get-new-news) will freeze until i press ‘C-g’. If I
quickly press ‘g’ again, it'll get new news just fine.
Is it just me or is (nnweb-type google) broken for you too?
