Beighton was historically a parish in Derbyshire, but was incorporated
into the then County Borough of Sheffield, and therefore transferred to
the West Riding of Yorkshire, in 1967 (as the Wikipedia article on
Beighton Ward says), and to South Yorkshire in 1974.

However, from the 1830s it was in Rotherham Poor Law Union (and thus
Registration District) which was otherwise in Yorkshire. The parish
registers are in Sheffield Archives.

I have done some research on an Ellis family, mostly Quakers, who were
in Beighton in the 18th century.
