Greetings. Readers of comp.unix.bsd.misc may wish to take notice of an ongoing Request for Discussion (RFD) to remove the unmoderated newsgroups comp.unix.bsd.386bsd.misc and comp.unix.bsd.bsdi.misc. The discussion is taking place in the following thread in news.groups.proposals: <news:10cb4ks$37p$1@reader2.panix.com> The proponent's rationale for removing the groups is that the operating systems covered by comp.unix.bsd.386bsd.misc and comp.unix.bsd.bsdi.misc aren't developed any more, and that any discussion on those OSes could instead take place in a more general group -- presumably such as comp.unix.bsd.misc. A respondent to the RFD questioned whether discussion of disused BSD variants would in fact be welcome on groups like this one. Any regulars or lurkers still present here on comp.unix.bsd.misc are welcome to chime in on this point (preferably in the RFD thread itself). Regards, Tristan -- Usenet Big-8 Management Board https://www.big-8.org/ board@big-8.org
