Not for the Adobe product per se, but there are occasions when making a simple textual change to a PDF file, especially in bulk or on a regular basis, can be done most easily by converting to Postscript with pdf2ps, editing a word or couple of lines with sed, and converting back to PDF with ps2pdf.
