But before telling you about the details I'd like to tell you about an observation I've made today. A newly opened xterm lacked everything but the most basic commands like 'ls'. Looking up the environment all variables are still there. Perhaps I'm to blame but I'm not aware of an operating error at the moment. Regards, Michael
