In fact, there are definite cases where you WANT to force rosetta to run
a program in Intel mode.

For example, if you want to install homebrew, you do this by forcing
Terminal.app (or whatever terminal emulator you use) to run as x86, at
which point Homebrew happily installs and compiles everything.
