Right, but there's no indication as to which physical position is
"upper".

I think the mid-2010 Server is SATA II on both slots.

Later models have SATA-III. I believe the 2009 or maybe earlier had one
SATA-I slot for the optical. My 2010 did not have an optical drive
option as it shipped with 2x500GB drives.
